Using Kinlo

Terms of Service

These Terms govern your Kinlo account, private family space, content, sharing, and subscription.

Effective July 18, 2026

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Vasudhamma Modem (“Kinlo,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). They apply to the Kinlo mobile apps, private browser-sharing experience, website, and related services (together, the “Service”). Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.

By creating an account, accepting these Terms in the app, or using the Service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility and adult accounts

Kinlo is for adult parents, guardians, and adult relatives. You may create or operate an account only if you have reached the age of legal majority where you live and can enter a binding contract. Children may not create or operate Kinlo accounts.

If you add information about a child or another person, you represent that you have the authority and permissions required to collect, upload, store, and share it through the selected family space.

3. Accounts and sign-in

You must provide accurate account information and keep it reasonably current. You are responsible for protecting your device, sign-in method, and account, and for activity performed through your account. Contact vmodem.dev@gmail.com promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. You may not transfer, sell, rent, or share your Kinlo account credentials.

4. Family spaces and roles

Kinlo lets adults create or join a private family space. A family may have an owner, administrators, readers, or other roles shown in the Service. Permissions differ by role.

The family owner controls ownership transfer, administrator roles, billing authority, and whole-family deletion. Owners and administrators may manage membership, family information, content, and sharing as described in the app. Their actions can affect other members’ access and content.

Invite only people you trust and review family membership and private shares. Kinlo may preserve the status quo, restrict actions, or require appropriate documentation while reviewing a credible ownership or authority dispute.

5. Your content and ownership

“Your Content” means text, photos, videos, audio, names, dates, locations, comments, reactions, and other material you or your authorized family members submit. As between you and Kinlo, you retain the rights you hold in Your Content. These Terms do not transfer ownership to Kinlo.

You grant Kinlo a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt for technical delivery, encrypt, decrypt where the Service design requires it, transmit, display, and distribute Your Content only as reasonably necessary to:

This license ends when Your Content is deleted, except for the limited time needed to expire restricted backups and information we must retain by law. You represent that you own Your Content or have the rights and permissions required to submit and share it.

6. Voice capture and AI-assisted drafts

Kinlo can send a voice recording and relevant request context to configured Google services, including Gemini, to transcribe the recording and prepare an editable Memory or Milestone. AI-assisted drafts can be incomplete, incorrect, or unexpected. You are responsible for reviewing and correcting a draft before saving or sharing it.

Voice capture is a convenience for recording family stories. It is not professional, medical, legal, financial, safety, or emergency advice. Do not rely on it to preserve the only copy of critical information or to make a high-stakes decision. The original voice-capture recording is not automatically saved as an audio attachment.

7. Private sharing

Kinlo may let you share eligible family content with another member or an identified guest through a private link or browser session. A private link is sensitive access information. Send it only to the intended adult recipient and do not post it publicly.

Revocation prevents later access through Kinlo after it takes effect, but it cannot delete screenshots, downloads, recordings, or other copies an authorized recipient already made. You are responsible for choosing what to share and with whom.

8. Free storage and Kinlo Plus

The Free plan currently includes up to 500 MB of storage shared by the family. Kinlo Plus currently includes up to 50 GB shared by the family. The purchase screen displays the current plan, price, billing period, taxes, eligibility, and renewal terms.

If a family reaches its limit, Kinlo may prevent additional uploads while continuing to allow access to existing content. If Plus expires while the family uses more than the Free allowance, the family may need to remove content or renew Plus before uploading more. Attempting to evade limits or manipulate usage accounting violates these Terms.

9. Purchases, renewal, cancellation, and refunds

Kinlo Plus is sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Your purchase is also governed by the applicable store’s terms. Unless the purchase screen says otherwise, a subscription automatically renews for the same billing period until canceled. The store charges your selected payment method and applicable taxes.

Manage or cancel the subscription through your Apple or Google account. Deleting Kinlo or your Kinlo account does not necessarily cancel the store subscription; cancel it through the store as well. Trials, founding-member pricing, introductory offers, eligibility, and renewal prices are governed by the terms shown at purchase.

Except where required by law, purchases are non-refundable and we do not issue credits for partially used periods. Apple or Google controls store refund requests. Nothing in these Terms limits a non-waivable consumer right.

10. Acceptable use

You may use the Service only for lawful, personal family purposes. You may not:

We may investigate violations, preserve relevant information, remove or restrict content, limit features, suspend access, or terminate accounts when reasonably necessary to protect users, the Service, or others or to comply with law.

11. Kinlo intellectual property

Kinlo and its licensors own the Service, including its software, design, branding, documentation, and material we provide, excluding Your Content. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the app on devices you own or control as permitted by the applicable marketplace.

If you provide feedback, you allow us to use it without restriction or payment, provided we do not publicly identify you as the source without permission.

12. Privacy and security

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. Kinlo uses safeguards designed to protect the Service, including client-side encryption of media before upload, but no service is completely secure. Kinlo does not claim that all Service data is fully end-to-end encrypted.

Keep independent copies of information you cannot afford to lose. We work to maintain and back up the Service, but do not promise that every item can always be recovered.

13. Third-party services and marketplaces

The Service depends on third-party products, including Apple, Google, Firebase, Cloudflare, PostHog, RevenueCat, Gemini, Vercel, and Kit. Their independent services are governed by their own terms and policies. If you downloaded Kinlo through the Apple App Store or Google Play, the marketplace’s applicable terms also apply. A non-waivable marketplace term controls to the extent it conflicts with these Terms.

14. Service changes and availability

We may add, change, restrict, or discontinue features to maintain security, comply with law, improve the Service, or respond to technical and business conditions. We will provide notice when required by law or when a material change adversely affects a paid subscription.

The Service may be unavailable because of maintenance, failures, provider outages, emergencies, or events outside our reasonable control. We do not guarantee every feature in every country, device, or app version.

15. Deletion, suspension, and termination

You may initiate account deletion through Kinlo settings. A family owner must first transfer ownership or choose whole-family deletion. Personal-account deletion removes account data and user-generated content associated with the account, including shared Memories, Milestones, media, comments, and reactions. Whole-family deletion removes the family, content, media, memberships, and guest access, subject to limited legal, fraud-prevention, security-log, and backup-expiry exceptions.

We may suspend or terminate access if you materially or repeatedly violate these Terms, create risk or harm, fail to pay for a paid feature, or if law requires it. When practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue. Serious safety, security, fraud, or legal concerns may require immediate action.

16. Disclaimers

Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or consumer protection that cannot legally be excluded. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Kinlo disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, quiet enjoyment, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, completely secure, or that AI-assisted drafts will be accurate.

17. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kinlo will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, goodwill, use, or data, arising from or related to the Service.

18. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the mandatory law where you live applies. Courts located in Hyderabad, India, will have jurisdiction over disputes unless applicable law permits or requires another forum.

Before filing a claim, you and Kinlo agree to try in good faith for 30 days to resolve it informally by emailing vmodem.dev@gmail.com. This does not prevent urgent injunctive relief or use of an available small-claims or consumer process.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when the Service, law, or our business changes. We will post revised Terms with a new effective date and give additional notice when required. If law requires consent, we will request it.

20. General terms

These Terms, the Privacy Policy, purchase terms, and any additional terms presented for a feature form the agreement between you and Kinlo about the Service. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum permitted extent and the remaining provisions remain in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a reorganization, merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or by operation of law.
